TNEB consumer complaint online
TNEB - Tamil Nadu Electricity Board is a power generation and distribution company in Tamilnadu. The total number of consumers being served in the Tamilnadu state as on March 31 2018 is 288.09 lakhs.
While they are trying to manage the day to day demand in power supply. The feedback from the public is not that good. They managed to keep their power supply alive till parliamentary elections which was held this May 2019. However after elections they have slowly started to show their true colors. The public got used to it and it is never going to change for sure.
The reading for the domestic power supply is for bi-monthly which should be around 61 days.
Here is a recent consumer compaint
Recently, they had taken a reading for the current billing cycle and the reading came a little above 500 units.
Last reading - 18th of May
This month reading - 24 th July
Total days for this cycle - 67 days (Normal around 61 days)
Because of this the consumer has to pay more money. Since the reading was taken a week later, the reading had crossed above 500 and the unit rates increased accordingly. When this was taken to the nearby Electricity board office, they replied very cool that,

So, is there a solution for this headache problem?. or should we have to pay the amount whatever the reading says?.
Yes ! there is a simple solution for this issue.
When we talked about this issue with other persons, we came to know that once the billing cycle ends and you didn't get the person who is supposed to mark the reading, you can mark the reading yourself and can inform to your local Electricity borad office. They will enter the reading in your Electricity board card and will tell you the exact amount that you have to pay.
Final verdict : Do not wait for these lazy government employess to take the reading. Once the billing cycle ends, note the reading and inform it to your local EB office. By doing this, we can save a lot of money.

Please go to the nearby electricity board office and rectify the problemWow! what a customer service. We should appreciate how responsible these government employees are nowadays. Really a shame on these industry. As a normal person, we would pay the amount and skip to the next day. since we don't want any trouble in our life. But if we do that, these employees will take advantage and become more ignorant.
